CORHIO Health Information Exchange Announces New Board Members
DENVER, Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CORHIO, a nonprofit organization assisting health care providers with the implementation of information technology systems designed to improve health care quality, announced today the confirmation of four new members to the organization's board of directors.
The new directors elected to the board are:
- Patrick Gillies of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
- Jason Greer of the Colorado Community Managed Care Network
- Michelle Mills of the Colorado Rural Health Center
- Alexis Sgouros of Kaiser Permanente Colorado
All of the new members joined the board on October 1, 2014 and their terms vary in length between one and three years. These new members join 11 previously elected board members. For a full list of board members, please visit www.corhio.org/about/board-of-directors.

New Board Member Backgrounds
Patrick Gillies serves as the Regional Administrator for Region VII, Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). He brings a wealth of health care industry expertise to the CORHIO board, having previously held executive positions at a large state public health department as well as an integrated behavioral health care network. Gillies holds an MPA in Health Policy Administration.
Jason Greer is the Executive Director for the Colorado Community Managed Care Network (CCMCN), a nonprofit membership organization representing 13 community health centers delivering care to underserved populations. At CCMCN, Greer represents health centers' partnership interests in Colorado Access, a safety-net health plan serving Medicaid, CHP+ and Medicare enrollees, and in the Integrated Community Health Partners (ICHP), one of Colorado's Medicaid Accountable Care pilot organizations. Prior to his current role as Executive Director, Greer spent 20 years in various senior level technology roles where he developed a deep understanding how technology can be used to improve outcomes and lower costs.
Michelle Mills is the Chief Executive Officer at the Colorado Rural Health Center, where she is working to improve collaboration and provide resources for rural health clinics, urban underserved clinics and rural/critical access hospitals. Mills brings a deep understanding of quality improvement to the board and participates in a number of complementary advisory groups and boards affiliated with the National Rural Health Association, Think About It Colorado, Data Services for Healthcare (DASH) and Regis University.
Alexis Sgouros is the Vice President of IT and Business Information Officer for Kaiser Permanente Colorado. Over the last 10 years, Sgouros has held several leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente in Colorado and California and helped to launch the Care Connectivity Consortium, an initiative to advance health data exchange with Geisinger Health System, Mayo Clinic, Intermountain Healthcare and Group Health Cooperative. Prior to Kaiser Permanente, Sgouros spent eight years at biotechnology companies.
