Continental to Hire 100 People at Its Fletcher, NC Manufacturing Facility
Continental must fill 100 new positions at its brake caliper manufacturing facility in Fletcher, North Carolina. The positions are part of a $30 million expansion plan announced last year.
FLETCHER, N.C., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental, one of the largest automotive suppliers in the world, is moving forward with its plans to hire 100 people in the next 7 months at its manufacturing facility in Fletcher. Continental manufactures brake calipers at the facility and has a variety of job openings available including assembly, engineering or supervisory positions.
Applicants can find a list of open positions on Continental's website at www.careers-continental.com. The jobs are also posted on www.careerbuilder.com or through the local North Carolina Employment Security Commission (ESC) office. Hourly job applicants must first pass pre-employment testing before they are brought in for interviews.
Last summer Continental announced a $30 million expansion plan at its Fletcher, North Carolina manufacturing facility. The plan, which is a direct result of additional orders from Continental's customers, includes adding more than 325 jobs to the area over the next few years. Continental also added a new production line to the manufacturing facility that will build combination calipers, which are a combination of a caliper and a parking brake. Combination calipers reduce the cost of the vehicle and reduce the weight of the vehicle, which improves gas mileage.
"When we hire people, we look for them to be with Continental for a long time; the average length of employment is about 10 years," plant manager Bobby Nelon said. "I am very pleased that we have the chance to offer such stable employment to the people of the western North Carolina area."
