ConnectEDU to Advance Student Success Through the Creation of The ConnectEDU Pathways™ Council
Jane Swift will Chair the New Council Designed to Identify, Inform, and Promote Education Policies Focused on Students' College, Career, and Financial Success
BOSTON, July 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As a continued effort in ConnectEDU's commitment to empowering students to manage their education, launch their careers, and secure a more prosperous financial future, the company is proud to announce the creation of The ConnectEDU Pathways™ Council ("Council"). The Council will identify, inform, and promote education policies that expand students' access to postsecondary opportunities and prosperous career pathways.
ConnectEDU is also pleased to announce that Jane Swift, former Massachusetts Governor, will be transitioning from her current role as Senior Vice President of Government Solutions at ConnectEDU to chair this newly formed Council. Swift will head the group of thought leaders appointed by ConnectEDU with varying backgrounds across public service and the private sector. Council members will offer diverse perspectives for expanding postsecondary access, career readiness, and solutions that empower students across the education-to-employment pathway. Additional Council members will include Margaret Spellings, former U.S. Secretary of Education and ConnectEDU Director, as well as Ted Fischer, ConnectEDU's President and COO.
"I am honored to serve as Chairperson on The ConnectEDU Pathways Council, as the policies that we will promote will have a powerful impact on students' education, career, and financial success," said Jane Swift. "I am eager to help grow the Council with leaders in the education community and the private sector who are equally dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of students."
"Jane's leadership and unique perspective on the policies that are necessary to ensure a student's success across their education, career and financial pathways made her an obvious selection to chair the newly formed Council," said Craig Powell, CEO and Founder of ConnectEDU. "There is nothing more important than the education and career development of students of all ages, and the Council will be an advocate and voice for helping improve and reform a system that is vital to the future of our leaders of tomorrow."
