"Well-trained gerontologists are needed now more than ever," says Lydia Manning, PhD, associate professor and program leader for gerontology at Concordia University Chicago. "Professionals credentialed with graduate degrees in gerontology will be in demand to create new programs, products and opportunities to help older adults age well."
In pursuit of this goal, Concordia-Chicago is investing in its gerontology programs through expanded online and on-campus degrees and programs with a commitment to gerontological research.
In January 2014, Concordia-Chicago launched a redesigned online master of arts in gerontology and certificate in gerontology.
Concordia University Chicago's online master of arts in gerontology is designed to provide an interdisciplinary course of study for individuals interested in meeting the needs and contributing to the well-being of an aging population. Additionally, this course of study provides an integrated perspective on aging and older adults. Students are trained in the fundamentals of gerontological education, research, and practice.
