SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Commerce Signals, the industry leader in Federated DataTM, a breakthrough approach to secure data collaboration, today announced that data privacy and cybersecurity expert, Russell Schrader, has joined the company as general counsel and chief privacy officer.

Schrader brings to the company a rich background of experience across regulated industries. He is a nationally-recognized expert in consumer data protection, cybersecurity, global data governance, and enterprise risk. Schrader currently serves as a member of the Department of Homeland Security's Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee, and is a former long-time Director of the national Council of Better Business Bureaus. He is a fellow at the Centre for Information Privacy Leadership.
Prior to joining Commerce Signals, Schrader was senior vice president and chief privacy officer for Visa Inc. He was the company's first chief privacy officer, leading privacy and data security policies and issues. Before Visa, Schrader headed the national consumer legal group at Chase in New York City. He holds a law degree from Duke, an MBA in Finance from New York University, and a BA from Wake Forest.
