Coming Together of Welding Professionals - Welding Busan Korea 2010 Wraps Up After 3 Successful Days of Exhibition
SEOUL, South Korea, Nov. 19, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Welding Busan Korea 2010 finished on November 6th after 3 successful days of exhibition at BEXCO in Busan. The event was jointly hosted by Metal Network Korea (CEO Heung-bok Kim) and BEXCO (CEO Soo-ik Kim).
The opening ceremony of Welding Busan Korea 2010 took place on November 3rd with CEO Soo-ik Kim, CEO Heung-bok Kim and a group of welding industry representatives in attendance. With the welding industry representatives taking part in the tape-cutting, the event indeed heralded the coming together of welding professionals.
At the welcoming banquet on the first day of the event, CEO Soo-ik Kim expressed his expectations of Welding Busan Korea to create a market for the industrial equipment industries and put on a world-class exhibition and President Jong-bong Lee of the Korean Welding Society said he is pleased with the recent advancement of the welding industry and wished for more events like Welding Busan Korea to take place in the future.
160 companies based in and outside of Korea participated in Welding Busan Korea 2010 where 300 exhibition booths were set up. Outstanding welding, cutting and laser products were introduced. The event was attended by 15,000 visitors, 350 of whom were foreign buyers.
Industry leaders based both in and outside of Korea including Autowel, Chungsong Industry Machine Company, Trumpf Korea and Taeshin G&W showcased advanced welding, cutting and welding equipment and proved the potential of Welding Busan Korea to become a global exhibition.
While this year's event showed qualitative growth from the 2008 event with an increased number of participating companies and exhibited items, quantitative growth was not achieved as the number of exhibition booths was decreased. This is seen as being due to no substantial improvement in the economy having taken place despite it having started on its way of recovery. The serious standstill of Korea and Japan's plasma cutter market is seen as a factor that influenced this year's event.
Welding Busan Korea is a biennial event that promotes the welding industry by introducing and sharing new products, information and technologies in the fields of welding, cutting, laser and environment.
After being approved by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry last year, Welding Busan Korea was selected by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy in January this year to support the export by small and medium businesses. All in all, the event is seen as having risen to the position of Korea's most prominent welding exhibition.
However, some opinions voiced concern that while Welding Busan Korea's achievement surpasses those of other welding exhibitions that are regrettably disorganized, the atmosphere of the event is not 100% official. In response, Metal Network Korea Company stated that it intends to further promote Welding Busan Korea to become the number 1 welding exhibition in Korea that is held for the welding professionals and by the welding professionals.
