Colliers International Launches National Seniors Housing Practice Group
Industry Leader Mark Silver to Head National Service Line
SEATTLE and NEW YORK, June 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Colliers International announced today the formation of its Seniors Housing Practice Group, continuing its expansion and investment into best-in-class service lines with a national reach. In addition, Colliers International has recruited renowned real estate executive Mark Silver as National Director to lead the group's formation and management.
Operating out of the New York office, Silver will oversee the day-to-day management and business development for this specialty group, build its profile on a national basis and leverage Colliers International's capabilities to serve clients in the senior housing sector across all U.S. markets.
The Seniors Housing Practice Group will provide integrated services of brokerage, capital markets and strategic planning to owners and investors across all sectors of senior housing and healthcare, including independent living facilities, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, dementia facilities, continuing care retirement communities, surgical centers, medical office buildings and hospitals.
"Mark Silver is a tremendously talented professional with a long history of service excellence in the Seniors Housing sector. His experience and leadership will be instrumental in leading this national practice group," said Dylan Taylor, CEO of Colliers International in the U.S. "Mark takes a partnership approach when servicing clients, and has the personal integrity and personality that dovetails with our corporate culture. He is yet another example of the type of professional Colliers International continues to recruit: client-focused, solution oriented and one who has passion and enthusiasm for his work."
"I am extremely excited to join Colliers International," Silver said. "Colliers has one of the best real estate brands in the world and is expanding significantly at a time when other firms are retrenching. With an aging population, the Seniors Housing sector is a critical and growing niche. There is a real need in this sector, and a tremendous opportunity for Colliers International to expand this practice group and provide best-in-class service to our clients."
"Having Mark Silver operate out of the New York office is another key investment to expanding our service lines and local market share," said Mark Jaccom, CEO of the Tri-State region. "The addition of Mark and our recently launched Tri-State Life Science Practice Group furthers our momentum in New York, and it gives Colliers International a major presence nationally in the Seniors Housing space."
Silver was most recently Managing Director at Jones Lang LaSalle and co-Head of the National Seniors Housing Group. He also previously served as a Senior Director and an integral member of the Seniors Housing Group at Cushman & Wakefield.
During his 18-year real estate career, he has represented a wide variety of healthcare and seniors housing clients throughout the U.S. His most recent assignments include the sale of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Connecticut and medical office buildings in New York and Texas. He has also provided development consulting and/or financing services for projects in Connecticut, Florida, and Long Island.
Silver received his Bachelor of Science degree from Quinnipiac University School of Business in Hamden, CT, and is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York. He has also served on several civic organizations as a committee member.
