CHICAGO, Feb. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CNA today announced the appointment of Scott Weber to fill a newly created Senior Vice President role within the company's Worldwide P&C Claim unit. In this role, Weber is responsible for all aspects of CNA's Staff Counsel, Legal Services, and the Quality, Compliance and Learning areas. He reports to Andrew J. Pinkes, Executive Vice President, Worldwide P&C Claim.

Prior to joining CNA, Weber served as a Managing Director at Stroz Friedberg, where he was responsible for overseeing the firm's insider threat practice and assisting clients in leveraging predictive analytics for the prevention, detection and mitigation of insider threats and security risks. Weber practiced law for 21 years, and held litigation partner roles at Latham & Watkins and Patton Boggs, where he was responsible for complex litigation, including class action, toxic tort, product liability defense, internal investigations and compliance. Weber recently served as a Senior Advisor at The Chertoff Group, LLC. Notably, he also served as Senior Counselor to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Weber is well respected for his pro bono work, having served at different times as Special Counsel both to the New Jersey Office of the Child Advocate, and to the New Jersey Senate Judiciary Committee. Weber served as a member and chairman of the District Ethics Committee for the New Jersey Supreme Court's Office of Attorney Ethics. He also served on a New Jersey Governor's Advisory Panel for Police Standards.
Weber has appeared on Fox News, CNBC, CNN, BBC Television, and other broadcast outlets as an expert on cyber and national security issues. He has also been a contributing author to several leading business and legal publications.
Weber holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and English from Rutgers University, as well as a J.D. from Boston College Law School.
