CMSA Announces 2010 Case Management Award Recipients

Three Members & Six Local Chapters Receive Awards at 20th Anniversary Celebration

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., July 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Case Management Society of America (CMSA) announced its national case management and chapter award recipients at CMSA's Annual Conference & Expo held June 8 - 11, in Orlando, Florida.

CMSA's Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon Catherine (Cathy) Mullahy, RN, BS, CRRN, CCM, of Huntington, New York, President of Mullahy & Associates LLC, and noted author and presenter. Her numerous leadership activities include: 2001-2002 CMSA President; Editor-in-Chief, The Case Manager; 1999-2000 National Chair, CCMC; 1995 and 2002 committee member for the Standards of Practice for Case Management; and numerous national board positions. Her book, The Case Manager's Handbook, is widely acclaimed as a reference for case managers and students nationally and internationally.

The 2010 Case Manager of the Year is Susan A. Rogers, RN-BC, BSN, CCM, of Overland Park, Kansas, owner of a case management education/consulting company. Rogers is a nationally recognized speaker, educator, and author with an industry reputation as a champion for case management. She has worked extensively in her local Kansas City CMSA Chapter and for CMSA National.

Derenda Lovelace, RN-BS, MSN, CM, of Chesterfield, Virginia, received the Award of Service Excellence. As RN Case Manager at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Med Center, Lovelace provides clinical case management for severely injured service members and veterans. She has served as Vice President of the Central Virginia Chapter of CMSA and coordinated numerous educational events.
