Cloud and Virtualization Company Accelera Solutions Wins Prestigious NATO Seasparrow Contract Award

FAIRFAX, Va., May 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Accelera Solutions, a Fairfax, Virginia based cloud and virtualization company, announced it is a recipient of a contract award for information technology support for the NATO Seasparrow program. The Sea Sparrow program began 44 years ago when four countries—Denmark, Italy, Norway and the United States—signed a historic memorandum of understanding to form a state-of-the-art naval missile defense system. The program has since grown to a global initiative that includes 12 member nations.

Accelera teamed with Carpathia Government Services (www.carpathia.com) to develop a hybrid cloud solution in support of several enterprise Microsoft applications. The solution design is based on Accelera's unique Secure Optimized Cloud architecture which includes extensive purpose built security controls, continuous monitoring, and complete certification and accreditation of the proposed solution. The Seasparrow program had been utilizing a traditional on-premise solution supported by contractors for all of its internal information technology needs, and desired a completely new environment that could support continuity of operations and overcome the limitations of a physical environment. The new platform will also provide increased capability to develop and deploy new and enhanced platforms and services.  

The award brings Accelera Solutions global recognition on a multinational defense project and as a trusted partner of the NATO Seasparrow Consortium. The award is valued at $3.1 million.
