Clip Interactive Surpasses $1M in New and Incremental Revenue for its Radio Partners
Partners enjoy the benefit of tracking mobile success in revenue
BOULDER, Colo., Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Clip Interactive announced that the interactive radio station apps developed for Alpha Media and Salem Broadcasting in Portland and Cumulus Radio in Indianapolis have generated more than $1 million in new revenue for those partners to date in 2014.
Clip Interactive measures its success as a company from the new advertising dollars interactive radio brings to its station partners and the partners that adopt the technology are seeing a quick turnaround in net new revenues.
Clip Radio-powered stations are producing $100,000 of new revenue within 30-45 days of launch. This monetary benchmark not only highlights that radio advertising works, but also proves that an innovative and revenue-generating mobile solution is now available and radio advertisers embrace it.
Additionally, this net new revenue is coming from multiple sources including advertisers who are completely new to radio and returning advertisers who previously left radio for digital media. Given the solid metrics these new interactive capabilities bring to radio, current advertisers are also increasing their budgets, providing incremental revenue to stations.
"We are now able to attract advertisers that had previously abandoned the medium for alternative digital solutions," said Bob Proffitt, president and CEO of Alpha Media. "Through the Clip Radio-powered apps, we are able to build a stronger relationship with both our listeners and our advertisers, providing both groups with compelling content that they cannot find anywhere else. We are eager to expand our interactive radio capabilities to our other Alpha Media markets."
Unlike other mobile providers that continue to charge monthly fees, Clip Interactive showcases the value of tying broadcast radio to a mobile device with the ability to interact immediately, and works to create new revenue for its radio partners. Clip Interactive shares in the net new revenue that their proprietary technology is bringing to radio via advertisements.
"Mobile technology is the perfect companion to the engaging content that radio stations are already producing and enables them to capitalize on their already engaged and diverse audience," said Bill Freund, chief revenue officer at Clip Interactive. "Our technology provides stations with a completely new revenue stream that can begin almost immediately. The stations remain in control of their brand and the interactive experience."
With Clip Interactive's technology, the broadcast becomes interactive and the user base can scale dramatically, as all Clip Interactive applications are accessible through every wireless carrier on all iOS and Android mobile devices. Thus, the growth potential is immediate and limitless, there is no waiting for carriers or handset manufactures to adopt or approve the technology.
