City Quest Coming to Huntington Beach This Summer

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- City Quest, the ultimate outdoor adventure that awards cash and prizes for conquering a host city using clue solving, task completion and strategic navigation along with some downright goofiness, is coming to Huntington Beach later this summer.  Detailed information is available at www.socalcityquest.com.

The exciting three-hour (approximately 30-mile) journey challenges enterprising participants to uncover and explore landmarks, unique locations and recreational venues.  Successful "Questers" will employ keen detective skills, embrace trivial pursuit and mix in low-demand physical activity... all while having FUN!  A number of zany "activities" are built into the course, and participants will have a choice of which to attempt.

City Quest also will weave Huntington Beach's 100 year history, colorful personalities, key retailers and storied traditions into this inaugural competition along with the very important themes of charity and environmental awareness.  Participants must embrace the city in its entirety - past, present and future - to be successful.  Partial proceeds from the event will go to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands and a Huntington Beach charitable organization (TBD).  Future events in other cities will incorporate similar templates.  

In addition to featuring a great form of exercise in a unique setting, City Quest will award several prizes for winners in multiple divisions, increasing the chances of going home with something: a "dinner for two," amusement park tickets, theater passes or the coveted grand prize.  Anyone and everyone can participate, with divisions including overall, bicycle, small group (two-four people), large group (five-plus people), college (must present current ID card), best costume and best photo (taken on race day).

All paid City Quest participants will receive a souvenir T-Shirt, loaded goodie bag and a race package including clues, hints and more.  A number of important leads will be embedded within the City Quest website, Facebook and Twitter pages between now and race day, so pay careful attention.  A detailed FAQ section and answers to most questions are currently available on the website at www.socalcityquest.com.
