Chinese Designer to Showcase Groundbreaking Work at New York Fashion Week
World Renowned, International Sensation Sheguang Hu Will Unveil New Work in 'V-Reborn'
NEW YORK, Feb. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- International haute fashion designer Sheguang Hu will bring his visually stunning fashion designs to New York City this month for 2017 Fashion Week.
Beijing-based, Chinese-Dutch designer Hu is known for his stunning, intricately crafted pieces, each of which tells a story rich with mystery and intrigue. His works are both luxurious and noble but also possess ethereal, epiphanic qualities. They are simultaneously spiritually purifying and pastoral, reflecting the daily secular life of the farm, the street and the marketplace.
Hu's runway show look at New York Fashion Week will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 at Angel Orensanz Center (172 Norfolk Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan). The location was chosen because it where British fashion designer and couturier Alexander McQueen held his first show. McQueen ended his life on Feb. 11, 2010. Hence, Hu's show is named "V-Reborn." V, pronounced like the Chinese word minimize, also refers to "vast," so in this sense it means "from nothing to everything."
V-Reborn's colors are white, nude and gold. The show will feature two sessions with three sections each: The first session is about life, with sections focused on "Pure," "Nature" and "Transform"; the second section is about soul, with sections focused on "Growth," "Suffering" and "Blooming." Models include 2016 Chinese Miss Tourism Bin Han (70 years old); Chinese actor Rui Zhang and Topmodel Mariana Verkerk. Music will be presented on live by International Musicians Ba Yin He He and Sa Dingding. "Chinese Lady Gaga" Qianqian and singer Dage Zhao from Voice China will present as featured guests.
Members of the media interested in attending should email their RSVPs to [email protected].
