China Group Adventure Tour Includes Sleeping on the Great Wall and Expo 2010 in Shanghai
BEIJING, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The Beijing-based travel company, The China Guide (http://www.TheChinaGuide.com), has introduced a new China Group Tour with two complete weeks traveling to the best cities and sights on the mainland. The tour focus is quality western-style service, small groups and no visits to the infamous overpriced factory shops so common in China. The most unique aspect of the two week China tour is an overnight stay on the Great Wall, which has guests sleeping under the stars on this historic monument and waking up to a picturesque sunrise and hot coffee.
The China Guide's group tour includes 14 nights' accommodation and 15 tour days, one day being a free day for guests to enjoy the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. The tour will begin in Beijing and then head to Xi'an, Yangshuo and Shanghai, with an overnight visit to Suzhou and the ancient Tongli Water Town with its tastefully historic Sex Museum.
"We chose these destinations because it is the best mix of large urban cities with more relaxed destinations off the beaten track and a bit of adventure too. Guests can enjoy the historic culture and sights in Beijing, the modern elements of Shanghai and then unwind and relax in Yangshuo's countryside," says Peter Danford, owner and operating manager of The China Guide. "Sleeping on the Wall is always a highlight for our guests; many say it was the best part of their travels."
The Great Wall portion of the tour is two days and includes a six mile hike on the most scenic stretch of the Wall. Guests will enjoy dinner at the base of the Wall in Jinshanling Village, dining on homemade local cuisine while breakfast will be enjoyed on the Wall accompanied by the morning sunrise. Those who prefer not to sleep on the Wall may stay in a nice courtyard hotel in the village at no extra cost.
The China Two Week Group Tour itinerary includes quality meals in local restaurants with no tourist restaurants. You are introduced to the best of Chinese cuisine. Accommodation is in 4-star hotels in each destination that are selected for their location and service. Hotels vary from traditional boutique hotels in Beijing to apartment-style hotels in Shanghai and Xi'an. Guests will have evenings free to stroll the neighborhood that surrounds their hotel and other free time to strike out on their own.
