China Education Alliance To Open Six New Tutoring Centers in Beijing, China
HARBIN, China, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- China Education Alliance, Inc. (NYSE: CEU), a China-based education resource and services company, announced today that based on the success of its first tutoring service center in Beijing, the Company will open six new education centers in this area in the next six months.
Each of the six education centers will be able to provide tutoring services to about 300 students aged 6 to 18 simultaneously. Currently, Beijing is the largest after-school tutoring service market in mainland China, with approximately 1.8 million students between the ages of 6 and 18. The Company's pilot tutoring center which recently opened in Beijing has validated the robust demand for tutoring services. "Beijing is an attractive new market opportunity for China Education Alliance for several reasons. Our entry will not only help enhance the Company's brand, but it will also provide a solid foundation for the Company to build a nationwide tutoring service network over the next couple of years," said Mr. Xiqun Yu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of China Education Alliance, Inc.
Management expects to spend approximately $3 million over the next six months on facilities, instructors, advertising and administrative expenses to open these six new centers, and expects on average to break even during the first twelve months before turning profitable thereafter.
