China-based Automaker King Long Selling 23k Minivans Into Egyptian Market

XIAMEN, China, Nov. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Executives from King Long Egypt (KLE), the sole agent for Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co., Ltd. (King Long) in Egypt, along with other Egyptian sub-dealers, took part in the 2016 King Long Egyptian Market Business Conference held in Xiamen on November 14, 2016. Sales Contract for 576 complete knocked-down (CKD) versions of the Kingwin minivan were signed during the conference. KLE was honored with the title of "Excellent Sole Agent of Year 2016" by King Long.

Since the cooperation started from 2009, sales records have been set every year. By June of 2010, KLE reached sales of 1,000 vehicles. KLE broke the 10,000 vehicles mark in 2013, and, by October 2016, sold 23,000 vehicles.

In 2012, KLE partnered with King Long to launch a CKD project for King Long minivans in Egypt. A manufacturing facility with annual production capacity of 5,000 minivans was set up, including an automotive coating workshop valued at EGP100 million. King Long has become the number one minivan brand in Egypt.
