Chetan and Clara Mathur Create the Berlin Mathur Charitable Fund at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children
HONOLULU, June 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Chetan and Clara Mathur are proud to announce the establishment of the Berlin Mathur Charitable Fund to benefit Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children in Hawai'i. This fund will provide financial support and care to Kapi'olani's patients and families.
"We're so honored that the Mathur Family has given this generous gift to Kapi'olani to help our pediatric patients with blood and cancer disorders," said Dr. Wade Kyono, pediatric hematologist-oncologist at Kapi'olani Medical Center. "When parents are faced with potentially life-threatening illnesses in their children, the generosity of the Mathurs, in honor of their daughter Berlin, will ease financial burdens so families can direct their energy to the healing process. It is even more special that a family from Toronto, a world away, has the generosity and thoughtfulness exemplified in the 'Aloha Spirit', to help the children of Hawai'i and the Pacific."
"We are pleased to create this worthwhile fund in our daughter's name," said Chetan Mathur. "Hawai'i has held a special place in our hearts and we are truly impressed with Kapi'olani Medical Center. Our family is extremely excited to make a positive impact on the people that receive care from this wonderful hospital."
