Chase, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America Donate Mortgage-Free Properties to the Military Warriors Support Foundation's Homes4WoundedHeroes Program
DALLAS, Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) presented one of its biggest home giveaway events in the history of its Homes4WoundedHeroes program, thanks to donations from three of the nation's largest financial institutions, Chase, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America. The banks, in association with industry partners, donated a total of seven mortgage-free homes to combat-wounded heroes of Iraq and Afghanistan and their families.
Heroes receiving the bank-donated homes have been selected by MWSF through an application process. The keys were presented to them on Tuesday morning, September 13, just ahead of former President George W. Bush's keynote address at the annual Five Star Default Servicing Conference and Expo for leaders in mortgage servicing at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.
"The impact these homes can have on their recipients is immeasurable," said retired three-star General Leroy Sisco, founder and chief executive officer of MWSF. "It's the most heartwarming thing outside of my family that I've ever been involved with."
Through the Homes4WoundedHeroes program, MWSF has previously provided 30 mortgage-free homes, with an additional 17 in the very near future, to combat wounded heroes and their families who have severe or unique circumstances due to their injuries received while serving our country. In addition to the new home, participating families receive three years of family and financial mentoring.
"It's a privilege for us to partner with MWSF and the nation's three largest mortgage servicers to honor seven heroes whose sacrifice for our liberty is immeasurable," said Ed Delgado, CEO of the Five Star Institute. "We thank Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo for their support of this extraordinary event."
In addition to the three banks making the property donations, Tuesday's multiple home give away has been supported by The National Firm, The Home Depot, and Hudson & Marshall.
