Chain Bridge Bank Names Sam Schreiber President
MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Chain Bridge Bank, N.A. announced today that it has named Samuel A. Schreiber President.

Schreiber is a 25 year veteran of Wells Fargo and its predecessor, Wachovia. Prior to the Wells Fargo/Wachovia merger, Schreiber was the greater Washington, D. C. President and then became the Mid-Atlantic Regional President of Wachovia. From 2009 through 2013, he was a Regional Executive Vice President of Wells Fargo and led its business banking team in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

As President, Schreiber will lead all commercial and consumer business strategy and development activities in addition to the loan, deposit and mortgage divisions. Schreiber will also join the Board of Directors of the Bank and of its holding company, Chain Bridge Bancorp, Inc. Peter G. Fitzgerald will remain Chairman, and John J. Brough will remain Chief Executive Officer, of both the bank and holding company.

Schreiber began his banking career as a loan officer for Texas Commerce Bank in 1975. By 1982, at age 29, he was named President of Texas Commerce Bank – Campbell Centre. In 1989 he joined First Union which eventually merged with Wachovia and later became Wells Fargo & Company. Schreiber retired from Wells Fargo at the end of 2013.
Schreiber is a board member of the Greater Washington Board of Trade (Chairman, 2006), the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the Washington Performing Arts Society and the DC College Access Program. From 2007-2009, he chaired the Greater Washington Initiative. He is a member of the Economic Club of Washington, D.C. and a lifetime member of the Risk Management Association.
Schreiber holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Houston. He is a graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University and of the UNC-Chapel Hill Executive Leadership Program. He and his wife, Ellen, live in Oakton, Virginia and have two adult children and one grandchild.
