Life Time Fitness wins most prizes for top investor relations
NEW YORK, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Life Time Fitness took home the most awards for investor relations excellence at this year's IR Magazine US Awards 2010, picking up four trophies including the grand prix for best overall investor relations by a small-cap company and best investor relations officer at a small-cap company. Covance won three prizes, including the grand prix for best overall investor relations by a mid-cap company. The award for lifetime achievement in investor relations went to joint winners, Kay Breakstone and Carol Ruth, for their outstanding commitment to excellence in IR.
The winners were announced at a gala event this evening at Cipriani Wall Street. A full list of this year's award winners and a list of the sector leaders are available below, or on our website at www.irmagazineus.com.
An independent survey of investors elected the best performers in categories such as best crisis communications, best IR by a chairman or CEO and best IR by a continental European company in the US market. Research firm Erdos & Morgan used databases from Thomson Reuters and Ipreo to invite the full universe of US investment professionals to participate in an online survey between December 2009 and January 2010. For best retail investor communications, Barron's Online subscribers and BetterInvesting members completed a separate online survey. In total, 2,313 investment professionals and 1,866 retail investors voted. The complete results of the survey are now available in IR magazine's Investor Perception Study, US 2010.
The event was hosted in association with Barron's and was co-sponsored by American Stock Transfer & Trust Company, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays Capital, BNY Mellon Depositary Receipts, BNY Mellon Shareowner Services, Business Wire, Chorus Call, Deutsche Bank ADR Group, Financial Times, GE, Georgeson, Innisfree M&A Incorporated, International Print Group, Ipreo, Kreab Gavin Anderson, Laurel Hill Advisory Group, MacKenzie Partners, Marketwire, NASDAQ OMX, the National Investor Relations Institute, NYSE Euronext, PR Newswire, and Wells Fargo Shareowner Services(SM).
The IR magazine investor perception studies together make up the world's largest survey of this kind, each year canvassing over 5,000 analysts and investors around the world and identifying award winners in seven different countries or regions.
