CeBIT 2014: With ARGUS 162, intec Presents the DSL and Fibre Combi Tester for the Future of High-Speed Internet
LUEDENSCHEID, Germany, February 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
ARGUS 162 features all important broadband interfaces for sustainable testing - intec also showcases the new start-up device ARGUS 151
intec, a leading provider of DSL measurement technology with more than 25 years of experience, will be presenting two new testers at this year's CeBIT: the ARGUS 162 and the ARGUS 151. Both testers offer a wide variety of functions and impress with their high quality "Made in Germany" standards.
The new ARGUS 162 combines the capabilities of a tester for day-to-day installation with those of a tester for high-speed interfaces such as GPON (FTTH) or VDSL2 Bonding. In addition, it is equipped with a powerful and versatile SFP slot (FTTx) and a copper based Gigabit Ethernet interface which can, for example, provide a full ONT or xDSL modem simulation. Furthermore, it supports VDSL2 Vectoring and on request also integrates an ADSL interface as well as all recognised handset functionalities for ISDN (BRI S/T/U) and POTS.
Comprehensive features of ARGUS 162 and 151
ARGUS 151, the new starter model for testing, supports ADSL as well as VDSL2 Vectoring. The compact, low-cost device impresses with extensive functionalities and simple and user-friendly operation.
Both ARGUS 162 as well as the smaller ARGUS 151 are equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet interface and an Ethernet-TDR function, for example to measure loop lengths in LAN cabling. Both devices utilise the IPv4 and the new IPv6 protocol for parallel triple-play testing e.g. high-speed downloads with multiple 100 Mbit/s as well as simultaneous VoIP and IPTV.
Both testers can be optionally equipped with a two-wire TDR function for detecting faults in metallic cables, also on the last mile of DSL accesses, as well as with the ARGUS Copper Box for the safe and accurate measuring of all important electrical quantities within the local loop including, among others, voltage, isolation resistance or capacitance.
