CCC, MOTOR Donating Software to All Eligible Technical Schools
Extends support, relationship with I-CAR Education Foundation
CHICAGO, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- CCC Information Services Inc., MOTOR Information Systems and the I-CAR Education Foundation today announce an agreement to donate the CCC ONE® Total Repair Platform and MOTOR collision estimating data to technical schools nationwide. In order to be eligible, schools need only to complete a survey provided by the Education Foundation. The annual survey, completed by instructors at each school, qualifies each facility to receive free subscriptions to CCC ONE Total Repair Platform and MOTOR data.
"We are excited to see CCC and MOTOR stepping forward and making it possible for the nation's future technicians to use the latest information and technology as they prepare for a career in the industry," said I-CAR Education Foundation Director Scott Kruger. "Both companies have been long-time supporters of the Foundation, and we look forward to continued success together."
Pennsylvania College of Technology (PCT) Associate Professor Alfred Thomas is pleased that the donation helps separate two seemingly inseparable factors affecting education – technology and cost. The school has been using CCC software and MOTOR repair data for more than a decade in its certificate, two-year and four-year collision repair technology programs. In addition, the school has been involved in the CCC Michael Salvatore Memorial Repair Technician Scholarship program since its inception in 2005.
"I can't remember when the collision repair industry has seen so much significant change – substrates, hybrids, waterborne paint, the list goes on," said Thomas. "We are charged with the critical task of giving each future technician the knowledge to keep current. The donation of the CCC ONE Total Repair Platform and MOTOR estimating data is a significant benefit to the College and – most importantly – our graduates."
The annual a "Collision Repair School Solutions" survey, completed by instructors at secondary and post-secondary technical schools and colleges that have a collision repair program, qualifies each facility to receive free subscriptions to the CCC ONE Total Repair Platform and MOTOR data. The Education Foundation will use the results to track general program information, key academic performance indicators, and program needs for new tools and equipment to train the students. The survey questions provide the Education Foundation with important information about collision school enrollment, placement, personnel, facilities and equipment, and help the Education Foundation create metrics in which to measure the success of the collision education system going forward. In addition, the survey will gather information from schools on their individual, specific needs so that the Education Foundation is able to approach potential industry donors with these specific needs in mind.
