CCA Annual Convention Opens with Keynote Address from FCC Acting Chairwoman Mignon Clyburn
T-Mobile, Alcatel-Lucent and Syniverse Round Out Keynote Agenda
LAS VEGAS, Sept. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- CCA's Annual Convention opened today with a record crowd listening to a keynote address from Acting Chairwoman of the FCC, Mignon Clyburn, who discussed the positive impact of the 700 MHz interoperability industry solution and the benefits it will bring to consumers and to advancing build-out of broadband. She also discussed the Agency's commitment to modernizing emergency communications through Text-to-911 initiatives and investments in wireless infrastructure and capabilities, including the Connect America Fund and Mobility Fund. After her remarks, Chairwoman Clyburn was recognized with the CCA Competitive Champion Award.
T-Mobile CTO Neville Ray followed the Chairwoman's remarks with a request to his colleagues to be "dangerously disruptive." He shared T-Mobile's Incentive Auction Band Plan and discussed the opportunity presented to competitive carriers by addressing consumer pain points. Michael Schabel, VP of Alcatel-Lucent's Wireless Division, and Jeff Gordon, president, CEO of Syniverse, rounded out the keynote agenda with discussions around mobile broadband and the customer experience.
