(NASDAQ: CAVM), a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for enterprise, data center, cloud, wired and wireless networking, will demonstrate multiple industry standard server applications, Hypervisors and OSes running on Cavium ThunderX reference systems at Linaro Connect Asia 2015 during the week of February 9, 2015 at the Regal Airport Hotel in Hong Kong.
Cavium demonstrations will include:
- Full support for a range of industry standard Linux Operating systems
- Red Hat Linux with over 7000 available applications (binary RPMs)
- Canonical Ubuntu server distribution with over 41000 available packages
- openSUSE with over 6000 available packages
- These packages cover a significant percentage of widely used open source applications covering areas of system management (e.g. Chef, Puppet), distributed data bases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), Cloud storage applications (e.g. Ceph), Data Analytics (e.g. Hadoop), OpenStack and others.
- Industry standard virtualization solutions including advanced Hypervisor functionality such as direct device assignment for both KVM and Xen.
- Industry standard Java solutions such as OpenJDK.
These solutions will demonstrate low latency and high throughput solutions with excellent multi-core scaling. The demonstrations will also showcase Cavium virtSOC™ technology with full system virtualization, and SR-IOV capable IO. In addition, Linaro CEO George Grey will show OpenJDK scaling linearly across the ARMv8 cores of ThunderX as part of his keynote on Monday, February 9.
