Catalyst Opens Tokyo Data Center to Serve Clients in Asia
Secure Facility Provides Safe Haven for Data from throughout the Region
DENVER, Jan. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Catalyst Repository Systems, Inc. (www.catalystsecure.com), the pioneer in providing cloud-based document repositories for e-discovery and other complex legal matters, today announced the opening of its Asia data center. The full-featured, high-security data center—housed in the Equinix facility in the Shinagawa ward of central Tokyo—is designed to provide a safe haven for data for clients in Japan and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Recognized as the leader in true multi-language search and review, Catalyst has long supported international law firms and multinational corporations in matters involving complex "CJK" (Chinese, Japanese and Korean) data. The opening of the new data center adds to Catalyst's existing offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo and further expands the services and capabilities Catalyst offers throughout Asia.
"We understand that our clients conduct their businesses in multiple languages and we've made it our priority to provide the best technology to support them," said John Tredennick, Catalyst's founder and CEO. "As our operations in Asia continued to expand over the years, our clients asked us to enhance our physical presence in the region to better serve their needs. We established Catalyst Asia and opened the Tokyo data center in direct response to our clients."
"With more than a decade of experience under our belts, our in-house team and our partners have always provided local expertise on international matters," said Catalyst's Asia Managing Director Richard Kershaw. "Japan provides exceptional connectivity between Asia and North America, and has the strongest data protection laws in Asia. Our new data center provides the perfect tools and location to meet the changing expectations of courts both local and international."
A Complement to our Network of Trusted Partners
Throughout Asia, Catalyst has built a network of partnerships with trusted litigation support firms, staffed by experts in their respective jurisdictions. These partners welcomed the opening of the data center.
"Catalyst Japan Data Center will be a game-changer for the Japanese legal community," said Ted Fujisawa, CEO of Ji2 (www.ji2.com), a provider of computer forensics and litigation support in the U.S. and Japan. "Catalyst's capabilities to handle complex multi-national and multi-lingual litigation cases are the best in class and we believe that this new data center will greatly benefit enterprises and law firms in Japan by delivering lower cost and risk and improved speed & efficiency."
"By opening a data center in Asia, not only has Catalyst proven its commitment to the region, it has also brought to the region an e-discovery platform that truly supports Asian language," said Darren Cerasi, founder of I-Analysis (www.i-analysis.com.sg), a Singapore-based specialist in e-discovery, digital forensics and information management. "We have long held the view that clients based in Asia or who have their data in Asia are best served by working with Asia-based service providers."
In Hong Kong, Alan Jeffries, managing director of data forensics consulting firm D3 Forensics (http://d3forensics.com), commented, "We are very excited to enter into partnership with Catalyst as our exclusive vendor for secure hosting and review. Catalyst's multi-language, secure, hosting, processing and review platform allows us to be up and running fast."
Secure, Powerful Multi-Language Capabilities
As with Catalyst's U.S.-based data centers, the Tokyo facility is highly secure and is capable of powering the heart of the litigation lifecycle, from initial processing through search, review, production and trial. Catalyst's security has been vetted and approved by many of the most demanding organizations in the world, including banks, major software companies, insurers and the U.S. government for sensitive terrorist materials.
Catalyst was one of the first e-discovery companies to offer true multi-language capabilities. Its systems are optimized for the CJK languages, can handle both Unicode and non-Unicode pages, and is the only system to use full tokenization to allow language and locale selection in processing and search. Our capabilities have been tested and used by Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, Singaporean and Hong Kong based companies, in industries ranging from finance to high technology, software to logistics.
Catalyst also provides language experts to help clients search, analyze and review data in multiple languages, for US and local litigation and international arbitration.
