DOVER, N.J., Aug. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Adding to its expansive line of smartly-designed timepieces, Casio America, Inc. is proud to announce the EQB800 as the newest model in its EDIFICE collection of men's watches. Inspired by elements found in motorsports, this high-performance timepiece offers a dynamic sporty look in a sophisticated package and features enhanced timekeeping capabilities through smartphone connectivity.
"Our EDIFICE line is an incredibly versatile collection of timepieces and we love being able to innovate and add to its robust offerings with each new model that we introduce," said David Johnson, Vice President of Casio's Timepiece Division. "The EQB800 is a practical timepiece and the new Time Attack Recording capability proves to be yet another iteration of how we are always looking at ways to incorporate new features."
Inspired by Motorsports
Developed based on insights from motorsport racing professionals, the EQB800 features Casio's new Time Attack Recording which enables the wearer to track their racing times, record target times as well as see a list of their best lap times through a helpful list and graph display. In addition to performance, the timepiece also exudes the style and sophistication of this exciting professional sport. The bold blue stainless steel bezel is set off by the thick, powerful-looking index and hands which also displays the watch's smartphone connection status and battery level. A dual-coil motor drives retrograde hand movements that express speed like a tachometer while also displaying stopwatch measurement values in 1/20-second increments.
Smart Phone Link
To provide enhanced timekeeping capabilities, the EQB800 can be paired with a smart phone with just a push of a button through Casio's Mobile Link Technology. By downloading the CASIO WATCH+ app and connecting to a compatible smartphone via Bluetooth® SMART, the watch can access the correct time in its current location and for up to 300 cities worldwide, even updating with the latest time zone and Daylight Saving Time information. It also has improved accuracy by automatically syncing, via phone, to a time server on the internet four times a day or it can be synced by a one-push reset to ensure ultimate accuracy.
Tough Solar Power
The EQB800 also features Casio's Tough Solar Power, which consists of a solar panel system that converts light to electricity and eliminates the need for battery changes. It can even be charged in low or fluorescent light. After a full-charge and without further exposure to light, the timepiece has a battery life of approximately five months. A special power save feature conserves energy by enabling the timepiece to power down when not exposed to light, which can extend the battery life to nearly two years.
The timepiece is also water resistant up to 100 meters and protected with a scratch resistant mineral crystal. Additional features include a stopwatch, daily alarm, lap memory, Phone Finder, and more.
Casio's EDIFICE EQB800 will be available nationwide in September for a MSRP of $350 at select jewelry and watch retailers, G-SHOCK Soho Store as well as ShopCasio. For additional information on Casio's EDIFICE collection of timepieces, please visit www.EDIFICE.Casio.com.
