Carrie Underwood And Kelly Clarkson Are The Most Talented American Idol Winners, Pia Toscano Is The Most Talented Contestant Of All-Time, According To Just-Released Report From E-Score
Show succeeded in creating lasting stars, above average performers
LOS ANGELES, April 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As the final season of American Idol comes to a close this week, the show's alumni - winners and contestants alike - are enjoying widespread fame and popularity, according to a recent consumer survey conducted by E-Score®, a leading consumer research service that provides information to media and entertainment companies.
The survey ranked past American Idol winners according to whom respondents think is most talented. Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson head the list of past winners, regarded as "Talented" by 64% and 63% of Americans surveyed, respectively. Winning it all on American Idol, however, is not a prerequisite for winning the hearts of America. Several American Idol performers who missed the confetti were ranked just as high, if not higher, than the first place winners. Pia Toscana rated highest in the attribute "Talented" among all participants, with Jessica Sanchez and Jennifer Hudson following closely behind.
Even more noteworthy is that American Idol alumni on average ranked much higher than the average for all music performers, which includes everyone from Nicki Minaj and Rihanna to Michael Buble and Kenny Chesney.
"These numbers show the lasting legacy American Idol has created in the music industry and American culture," said Gerry Philpott, president of E-Poll Market Research. "Even as the industry changes, American Idol alumni will be entertaining us for a very long time in every aspect of music, television, film and theater."
