Carnegie Mellon University and SMALLab Learning to Develop Embodied Learning Scenarios
SMALLab transforms the classroom into an immersive, interactive learning environment where students are out of their seats and moving as they learn
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SMALLab Learning is collaborating with Carnegie Mellon University's (CMU) Entertainment Technology Center on innovative projects with local Pittsburgh schools. Over the course of the coming year, CMU students will work with middle and elementary school educators and students to create embodied learning scenarios for SMALLab. The projects will impact thousands of students through a consortium of SMALLab schools that span eight districts across the greater Pittsburgh area.

Since 2013, CMU students have been developing engaging scenarios with educators in the Elizabeth Forward School District. This new collaboration brings SMALLab to the CMU campus, thus accelerating the development process and expanding the impact across the region.
CMU's Entertainment Technology Center Director Drew Davidson, a national leader in digital media and learning, said, "SMALLab unlocks new and unique forms of interaction with its innovative platform. CMU students will use SMALLab's custom courseware development tools, while SMALLab Learning will provide ongoing support and mentorship.
