CareDox Expands Business to an Additional 817 Schools to Handle 450,000 New Student Health EMRs Totaling 1.4 Million Pediatric Records Nationwide
Web-based Electronic Health Record System Designed Specifically for School Health Services Drastically Increases Digital Footprint and Raises Gold Standard for School-Based Digital Record Keeping
NEW YORK, Aug. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CareDox, the nation's premiere electronic medical record tool for schools announced today several new contracts with 83 school districts around the country. The new batch of contracts with more than 817 schools will provide confidential and safe digital information management for school nurses to manage more than 450,000 student records. These partnerships enable school health offices to streamline and bolster care for district students in 83 additional school districts since January.
Some of the larger districts in the new group of contracts are: Rutherford County, TN (41,000 students); Sumner County, TN (28,000 students); Vista Unified School District, CA (25,000 students); Bartow County Schools, GA (14,000); Spokane Public Schools, WA (30,000). Most of these districts are already using the CareDox platform, with the rest set to start deployment in the coming school year. The new school contracts bring the total number of schools contracted to use the CareDox platform to almost 2500 schools, with well over 1.4 million individual student records managed.
The founding principle of CareDox is simple - CareDox eliminates the need for paper documentation and storage, improves patient confidentiality and safety, as well as provides parental, staff, and physician remote access for exchanging and sharing important health information. It also streamlines care processes, monitors and tracks individual and population health data, transfers immunization information between the school and state registry. Schools are not charged any fee to use the CareDox platform and training is provided to school nurses and health professionals to use CareDox.
"This period of explosive growth is because schools everywhere are embracing the opportunity to use the web-based CareDox electronic health record system, designed specifically for school health services," said CareDox CEO and Founder Hesky Kutscher. "We have a solid, user-friendly solution for schools who are genuinely struggling with the cumbersome task of managing student health records. We have a long list of schools in the pipeline with whom we will close even more contracts and are working as quickly as possible to increase implementation."
While CareDox provides a free student health record management platform to over 2,800 schools across the U.S., it also connects parents and local health organizations to critical student health information.
"Our goal is that no school nurse in the country will ever have to wait for and process paper immunization forms or other standard records under their purview," added Kutscher. "Furthermore, no parent in America should have to track down a child's vaccine information year after year. CareDox serves the entire community and the result is better student health."
