Capstone Holdings Group, LLC Hires Experienced Merrill Lynch Professional as Global Head of Research

NEW YORK, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Capstone Holdings Group, LLC announced today the expansion of the firm's capabilities with the hire of Heiko Ebens as Global Head of Research.  Capstone Holdings Group, together with its affiliates, form an innovative, multi-faceted international financial services firm, which specializes in and supports volatility trading that spans equities, commodities, currencies, credit and fixed-income globally.

Mr. Ebens joins Capstone Holdings Group after seven years at Merrill Lynch, where he last served as a Managing Director and Head of Global Equity Derivatives Research, overseeing a 15-member team which was ranked by all major global research surveys.  Mr. Ebens' team built the firm's research-driven structured product platform which raised $13.6 billion in assets.  His hedge fund replication work was highlighted in the Merrill Lynch 2007 European Structured Funds House of the Year award and a volatility fund his team developed ranked 3rd best in the 2008 European Morningstar Fund survey.

As the Global Head of Research, Mr. Ebens is responsible for developing a research framework, tailoring idea generation and structuring products that serve their clients' growing needs.  He will oversee the research platform across Capstone's New York, London and Singapore offices.  

Mr. Ebens earned a Ph.D. in Financial Econometrics from the John Hopkins University.  His academic work is recognized for advances in both forecasting risk and asset allocation.  Mr. Ebens' contributions are published in the Journal of Financial Econometrics and the Journal of Alternative Investments.
