NEW YORK, Aug. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Three law firms have selected Canon Business Process Services (Canon), a leading provider of managed services and technology, to implement a comprehensive range of document management, digital imaging and information governance services. The contract value of these agreements totals $15.8 million and includes new business, the expansion of existing contracts and renewals.
The new wins are significant because they underscore Canon's expertise in helping legal organizations contain costs, streamline operational efficiency and mitigate risk.
One firm replaced agreements with two service providers by engaging Canon for information governance, records management and office services. Canon is teaming with the firm to implement a digital intake center. The goal is to utilize document imaging, indexing and other services to reduce a backlog of active, paper-based files; improve access to information and minimize paper usage during the next few years. Canon is also creating digital intake centers for the other two firms as well as installing technology designed to improve workflows.
All three firms are also considering proposals to leverage Canon's comprehensive range of discovery services for future initiatives. This includes Canon's discovery platform, CaseData®, which is comprised of document review and processing capabilities, analytics, reporting and production features.
Canon provides discovery and document management services to 32 of the 2016 Am Law 100 firms, including two of the top five firms. Additionally, Canon was recently named by CIOReview magazine as one of the publication's Top 20 Most Promising Legal Technology Solution Providers in 2016. The annual list, developed by CIOReview, recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology.
