Canna Group, Inc. Announces Launch of Sugar Leaf Capital Fund I LLC
PLEASANTON, Calif., Nov. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Canna Group, Inc., leading consultants to the cannabis industry, today announced the formation of Sugar Leaf Capital Fund I LLC ("Sugar Leaf"), a private equity firm formed to invest in emerging growth companies within the cannabis sector. Sugar Leaf will have offices in California and Chicago, Illinois.
Sugar Leaf's investments will typically be in the form of equity and it may participate in or create a number of debt or debt-like investments as appropriate. Sugar Leaf's primary investment focus will be early stage businesses enabling the cannabis industry, but which are generally ancillary to the production or processing of the plant and not subject to state regulations. Key areas of interest include: Financial, Payments & Banking; Grow Systems, Agriculture & Operations; Software, Digital & Internet; Chemistry, Science & Genetics; and Business Services.
The Fund will be a committed capital fund and will only be available to accredited investors and qualified purchasers. The Fund's objective is to achieve long-term capital appreciation by investing in early-stage companies servicing the cannabis industry.
Canna Group, Inc. and its team, Grant Rollin (Partner), Aaron Silverman (Partner) and Chris Macaluso (Industry Advisor) will be active with the Fund in addition to Michael Gruber (Partner), Amy Boyet (Principal), Michael Guerra (Principal), Achint Prabhat (Principal), and Glen Anderson (Industry Advisor).
The Fund has partnered with Rainmaker Securities LLC, a licensed general securities Broker/Dealer and a FINRA/SIPC member firm.
