Candidates and Activists Counting Down to TheTeaParty.net Presidential Twitter Debate in Concord, NH
WASHINGTON, July 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- TheTeaParty.net announced that the Presidential Twitter Debate scheduled for 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. ET on July 20 will be followed by a reception for activists traveling from all over New England to the Grappone Conference Center in Concord NH. TheTeaParty.net has received a deluge of requests for use of their groundbreaking Twitter debate platform for future primaries.
"The Tea Party activist enthusiasm is matched only by the candidate enthusiasm we've seen so far," said Dustin Stockton, national spokesman for TheTeaParty.net, "It has been gratifying to watch candidates embrace the concept and platform as a means of reaching an unprecedented number of new voters. Direct democracy doesn't get more direct than this.'
Georgia business leader Herman Cain commented, "Social media has been and will continue to be an integral component of our campaign's efforts. I look forward to participating, to talk to and listen to the American people about the concerns and ideas they have to help our country get back on the right track."
Former Speaker Newt Gingrich remarked that, "I look forward to the presidential twitter debate. 140 characters is more than enough to explain how the Obama Depression is hurting families and the right policies for job creation."
The debate will be hosted by nationally syndicated Talk Radio Network host Rusty Humphries. Humphries will be accompanied by bestselling author, political pundit and Glenn Beck TV host Ms. S.E. Cupp, who will help moderate the debate. Republican presidential candidates confirmed to date include Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Herman Cain, former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA), former Gov. Gary Johnson (R-NM), Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) and former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA).
"I'm very much looking forward to Wednesday's debate and the chance to discuss the issues. Twitter is a great platform to directly interact with individuals who are personally invested in the campaign and I'm excited for the opportunity to do so," said former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson.
