Calvin, Giordano & Associates Contracted to Maintain Pembroke Pines City Facilities

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla., Jan. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Pembroke Pines City Commissioners have contracted with Fort Lauderdale-based Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. (CGA) to provide management for the operation and maintenance of all city-owned facilities and grounds, including Charter Schools.

By outsourcing to CGA as a private contract provider, the city estimates saving an annual $504,405. The five-year contract is in the amount of $5.9 million per year. CGA will staff the operation with 86 employees. Through an earlier contract, CGA administrates the city's building and zoning department, which employs approximately 30.

The second largest city in Broward County with nearly 160,000 residents and one of the fastest growing cities in America, Pembroke Pines, like many American cities, has opted to outsource select services to private contractors such as CGA over the past several years.
