EVERETT, Wash., Aug. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Fluke Calibration has published a new application note and supporting video to demonstrate how to automate temperature sensor calibration. "Automating temperature sensor calibration with the 1586A Super-DAQ" is a free, downloadable step-by-step guide for technicians describing how the 1586A Super-DAQ Precision Temperature Scanner helps calibrate temperature sensors more efficiently by automating the process without requiring a PC or software.
When the 1586A is connected to select Fluke Calibration dry-wells, fluid baths, or furnaces, the Super-DAQ controls the temperature source to run the calibration automatically. The technician simply programs the number of set-point temperatures and their values, selects a scan sequence, assigns a reference channel, and sets the required stability band. The Super-DAQ monitors the temperature source's stability through the reference channel, collects data from the reference probe and the unit under test once stabilized, and then advances to the next set-point temperature without user intervention.
The 1586A has up to 40 analog input channels and scan rates as fast as 10 channels per second making it ideal for applications such as thermal mapping, process sensor calibration, quality control testing, lifecycle testing, process monitoring, and environmental testing, with best-in-class temperature measurement accuracy of plus-or-minus 0.005 degrees Celsius for PRTs, 0.5 degrees Celsius for thermocouples, and 0.002 degrees Celsius for thermistors.
