C PORT Solutions Launches Line of Products to Change Virtual Meetings as We Know Them
The New Company Secures Significant Order and Investment From Newell Rubbermaid
ATLANTA, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- C PORT Solutions, the world's first company to offer comprehensive advanced collaboration devices in one system, announced today a significant order from global consumer products company Newell Rubbermaid. C PORT will begin immediate implementation of 20 of its OMNI PORT systems in Newell Rubbermaid's offices around the globe, permitting high definition video conferencing and advanced collaboration sessions to be held in any conference room, office or cubicle at anytime. In addition to the order, Newell Rubbermaid has also become a minority shareholder in C PORT.
Via a strategic partnership with videoconferencing equipment maker LifeSize, C PORT has successfully converged high definition video, audio, web conferencing and interactive whiteboard capabilities into a single, fully mobile platform, allowing businesses, schools and government entities to better communicate and collaborate at anytime. The company's patent-pending products are simple to use, even for non-technical staff, and can be easily wheeled from room-to-room at a moment's notice --unlike "fixed room" implementations, which require pre-scheduling along with advanced coordination and often impact the efficiency and productivity of knowledge workers.
"We have created the only platform to mobilize, converge and simplify HD audio, HD video, web conferencing and interactive white boards", said Lee Hicks, founder and CEO of C PORT. "For the first time, organizations can, with a straight face, talk of successfully empowering knowledge workers to travel less, improve productivity, reduce carbon footprints and enhance work/life balance."
The collaboration technology marketplace is predicted to exceed $34 billion dollars by 2012 and is expected to demonstrate a robust 10 percent annual growth rate over the next decade.
"Natural disasters such as the recent volcanic activity in Europe can bring travel, hence business, to a halt," said Mr. Hicks. "In a tight economy, the impact of such travel disruptions is amplified. Using collaboration technology is a more cost-efficient and greener way to ensure companies can conduct business as usual."
In addition to Newell Rubbermaid, other client wins include Lockheed Martin, MedAssets, Premier Global Services and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
