WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., May 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Bunge Limited (NYSE: BG), a global agribusiness and food company, today announced two management changes:
- the appointment of Frank Jimenez as General Counsel, Secretary and Managing Director, Government Affairs, and
- the retirement of Carl Hausmann, currently Managing Director, Global Government and Corporate Affairs.
Jimenez will join Bunge effective July 5 and report directly to Alberto Weisser, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Bunge Limited. Hausmann will retire effective June 30.
"Frank's background as a general counsel, manager and litigator in both the private and public sectors makes him an excellent addition to Bunge's senior management team," stated Weisser. "We look forward to benefiting from his experience and broad perspective as we grow our company and navigate an increasingly complex public policy landscape."
Jimenez currently serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Xylem Inc., the S&P 500, global water technology company recently spun off from ITT Corporation. He joined ITT in 2009 as Vice President and General Counsel. Prior to that, he served for nearly three years as General Counsel of the U.S. Department of the Navy in the Bush and Obama administrations. Jimenez previously practiced law as a partner at Steel Hector and Davis LLP in Miami, Florida. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a JD from Yale Law School and a BS from the University of Miami.
Hausmann has served as Managing Director, Global Government and Corporate Affairs since January 2010. Previously, he served as CEO of Bunge North America and CEO of Bunge Europe. Hausmann joined Bunge in October 2002 after the acquisition of Cereol, which he led as CEO. He began his long and successful career in the agribusiness and food industry at Continental Grain, and has held leadership roles in North America, South America, Africa and Europe.
"Carl has been instrumental to Bunge's growth over the past decade," said Weisser.
