Brooklyn Winery Crushes Its First Grapes
New Winemaking Center Open and Taking Reservations for Custom Barrels
BROOKLYN, N.Y., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Brooklyn Winery's inaugural winemaking season is underway! The winery has completed its first press of Chardonnay grapes, and bushels of grapes are arriving daily from New York State and California, ready to be transformed into custom barrels by patrons intrigued by crushing, bottling and labeling their own wine. Mid-month, the wine bar will be revealed, designed with reclaimed materials from the tri-state area and featuring a selection of wines and craft brews.
Located in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood, the 8,000 square foot facility offers anyone from wine novices to vinophiles the opportunity to learn about, taste, and appreciate wine in a laid-back, approachable environment. Resident Winemaker Conor McCormack is leading the winemaking experience, lending his expertise to each interactive "grape to glass" winemaking session. These hands-on sessions include crushing, pressing, racking and bottling the finished wine, along with periodic tastings as the wine ages.
Brooklyn Winery is located at 213 North 8th Street in Brooklyn. For more information or to sign up to make your own wine, call 347-763-1506 or visit www.bkwinery.com. Get updates from Brooklyn Winery by following http://www.twitter.com/brooklynwinery and www.facebook.com/brooklynwinery.
