British Council Bestows the 'Young Creative Design Entrepreneur Award' on Y-walls Design's Preksha Baid

DELHI, India, September 7, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Preksha Baid, founder and creative head of Y-walls design has received the prestigious YCE (Young Creative Entrepreneur) Award in the field of design instituted by the British Council, a division of the British High Commission in India. The British Council's Young Creative Entrepreneur Awards programme has been developing a powerful professional network between creative entrepreneurs in India, UK and internationally.

The awards aim to reward creative entrepreneurs based in India for their contribution to their respective sectors. The YCE award programme goes beyond simply recognising the achievements of these entrepreneurs by providing them a platform to begin a dialogue with their UK counterparts.

The program also aims to link them with potential investment and mentoring opportunities in partnership with the Indian Angel Network (IAN), which is India's first and largest business angel network.

After receiving the award, Preksha said she felt "like a bird with a new and stronger pair of wings".

India has a rich history of story telling, which is getting lost because of rapid modernization. Through 'Y-walls', Preksha aims to revive the art of story telling in India and build spaces that help people to connect and engage better with their habitat.
