Bridges to Recovery Announces Appointment of Michael Brodsky, MD, to Medical Director
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif., Aug. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Bridges to Recovery, a Southern California-based private, residential behavioral health program for adults with psychiatric disorders announces the appointment of Michael Brodsky, MD as medical director. In this position, Dr. Brodsky's responsibilities will include oversight of the medical and psychiatric aspects of treatment, coordination of care with the program director and clinical director, and outreach to the local, national and international psychiatric community.
Dr. Brodsky will maintain his role as instructor and board-certified psychiatrist at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Since 2007 he has been the director of psychiatric serves at the Venice Family Clinic, the largest free clinic in the United States. Dr. Brodsky has a particular interest in integrating biological and psychological treatment strategies to treat complex emotional and behavioral difficulties.

He has been an invited lecturer at the Maple Counseling Center, the UCLA Early Childhood Education Program, the American Psychoanalytic Association, Glendale Adventist Hospital, and the Salvation Army. Dr. Brodsky is also a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Brodsky obtained a B.A. and M.D. from Yale University. He trained in adult and child psychiatry at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, now known as the Semel Institute and the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. Dr. Brodsky received fellowships from Yale University, the American Psychoanalytic Association and the American Medical Association.
