BRIDGE to Offer Holistic Approach to Integrating OUC's Meter Data Management with Existing Applications Including Customer Information Systems and Outage Management Systems
MARLBOROUGH, Mass. and ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- BRIDGE Energy Group, the trusted advisor and implementation partner in Smart Grid Integration, today announced that OUC—The Reliable One has selected BRIDGE as the Smart Grid integration partner for its Smart Grid initiatives. OUC, which provides electric and water service to more than 313,000 metered accounts in Central Florida, will start integrating Meter Data Management (MDM), Customer Information System (CIS) and Outage Management System (OMS) applications as part of a broader Smart Grid initiative.
BRIDGE will leverage its proven eFAME™ Methodology to integrate OUC's newly acquired eMeter MDM application with OUC's existing CIS and OMS applications across distributed locations. eFAME is BRIDGE's comprehensive and integrated suite of methodologies and blueprints to perform strategic assessment, develop Smart Grid strategy, evaluate vendor products and implement application integration. BRIDGE's technology agnostic and vendor neutral approach will enable OUC to work with various application vendors under a uniform set of standards, thereby reducing risk and bringing transparency across all Smart Grid tracks.
"OUC selected BRIDGE as our integration partner based on their progressive approach to Smart Grid integration and domain expertise in energy applications such as MDM, CIS and OMS," said Dan Holverson, OUC's Director of Applications Systems. "Our team was impressed with BRIDGE's eFAME methodology as a standards‐based approach to accelerating our MDM integration projects."
BRIDGE brings industry best practices to OUC in the areas of Smart Grid Architecture, integration and interoperability. Additionally, BRIDGE's industry‐renowned Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) integration experts will leverage their experience with SOA and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) tools, specifically webMethods, to integrate OUC's Meter Data Management projects.
"BRIDGE's thought leadership in advancing a holistic approach to implementing Smart Grid integration architecture will be a key component to making the OUC project a success," said Tony Giroti, CEO of BRIDGE Energy Group. "Our standards‐based blueprints and platform creates a future‐proof IT ecosystem that better supports the evolution of ongoing Smart Grid goals and initiatives."
The MDM integration project will help to automate the business operations related to meter reading and more intelligently support demand side management.
