Border Surveillance Airplane to be on Display at Saturday Rally
PHOENIX, June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- American Border Patrol's Challenger II "Border Hawk" airplane will be on display this Saturday, June 5, at a rally to be held at the State Capitol in Phoenix. The "Border Hawk" is especially equipped for aerial surveillance of the border, including HD cameras and GPS video recording systems. It was recently used to survey 30 miles of the border just south of Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, for a new video, Open Border Arizona.
American Border Patrol is a non-profit Arizona corporation that has been using high-tech systems on the border for the past eight years. In addition to close-in surveillance using the Challenger II, ABP also has a Cessna TU-206 that is uses for longer-range aerial mapping of the border fence.
According to its website, the rally, Phoenix Rising, is being held "In support of Arizona and the rule of law," and will feature speakers such as former Congressman Tom Tancredo, Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce and Maricopa Sheriff Joe Arpaio. The location is Wesley Bolin Plaza near the state capitol building.
The "Border Hawk" will be on display beginning at noon and the rally begins at 3 p.m. Special showings will be made of the new video Open Border Arizona.
