Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Expedites Care, Pledges Support for Hurricane Harvey Victims

BOSTON, Aug. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA), Inc. is expediting access to care for all of our members who live in affected areas of Texas and Louisiana and pledging financial support for those impacted by the storm.

Through our national BlueCard program, we provide health care coverage for people across the country, including more than 46,000 members in Texas. In the wake of this disaster, we are expediting access to care for those living in affected areas of Texas and Louisiana to ensure these members can quickly and easily get the health services and medications they need.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is also making a $25,000 contribution to the American Red Cross, and our employees who donate to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization helping with the relief effort can take advantage of a dollar-for-dollar company match. Matching funds will be donated to the American Red Cross and the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Employee Fund.
