LOS ANGELES, Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Acclaimed Southern Ground recording artists Blackberry Smoke will headline House of Blues' 2013 "Ones to Watch" tour, it was announced by Aaron Wilson, House of Blues Entertainment's Senior VP of Marketing.

"This is a great opportunity for us and the band initially in 17 markets with the first shows for up-and-comers to share the music in an incredibly fan-friendly environment at venues throughout the United States," Wilson said. "We are pleased to have Blackberry Smoke kick off the 2013 'Ones to Watch' program and we think our second go-round is going to take it to a whole new level."
Mixing elements of gospel, bluegrass, arena rock, soul and more than a touch of outlaw country, Blackberry Smoke has earned a passionate fanbase that continues to grow as the band itself evolves. In a little more than a decade together, Blackberry Smoke has released three full-length albums—including 2012's The Whippoorwill, the bands first for country megastar Zac Brown's Southern Ground label—two EPs and a live DVD, Live at the Georgia Theatre. In addition to touring with Brown, Blackberry Smoke has also played with and befriended idols such as The Marshall Tucker Band, ZZ Top (with Billy Gibbons jamming with the band on a Florida stop), Lynyrd Skynyrd and George Jones. The band was even asked to play for Jones on his 80th birthday, not long after the country legend turned in a guest appearance on the band's sophomore album. They've toured three times, and had their songs featured in video games (EA Sports' NASCAR 08) and films (Swing Vote), as well.
Delivering the sounds of break-out artists from a wide variety of genres, the "Ones to Watch" program will engage music enthusiasts and benefit talent through intimate, one-on-one entertainment events, online social and media efforts. Previous artists in the program include Neon Trees, Chromeo, Matt Nathanson and Panic At The Disco.
Ones to Watch artists benefit from a full service marketing campaign, including featured placement across all Live Nation, Ticketmaster and House of Blues website and email marketing; social media marketing including a custom tour app; featured placement on the Ones to Watch website and the new LiveNation.TV; national media partnership opportunities; and special in-venue promotions.
