As the grand prize-winner, Weeks will receive a $10,000 scholarship to further her educational pursuits in the field of cancer research. She will also be featured in Black Opal's marketing materials worldwide getting an all-expense paid trip to New York City to star in a photo shoot, complete with professional hair and makeup courtesy of Black Opal. Additionally, Weeks will receive a year's supply of Black Opal skincare and cosmetics.

A prestigious panel of judges from the beauty and entertainment fields evaluated applicants based on essays, community service involvement, educational aspiration and photo to represent Black Opal's True Beauty. The panel included such luminaries as: R&B singer, Reality TV star on VH1's Love & Hip Hop, Olivia Longott; celebrity makeup artist and Black Opal artistic director, Frank Guyton; model, humanitarian & philanthropist, Noella Coursaris; Editor-in-chief at Juicy magazine and author, Paula T. Renfroe; celebrity hair stylist, Eric Bland; and celebrity fashion stylist Andre Austin.
In addition to the Grand Prize winner, 10 finalists were rewarded with a $2,000.00 scholarship award. Each finalist will also receive complimentary Black Opal skincare and cosmetics products and may also be given the opportunity to be featured in Black Opal worldwide marketing material.
