Bitium Named As A 2015 Gartner Cool Vendor in Identity and Access Management
Company Selected For Being Innovative, Intriguing and Impactful
SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bitium, a provider of cloud-based identity and access management solutions, announced today that it has been named a Gartner Cool Vendor in Identity and Access Management for 20151. The report recognizes five companies whose "offerings and business models point to new directions" in the identity and access management (IAM) market.
Some findings in the Cool Vendors in Identity and Access Management, 2015 report state that "the increasing adoption of diverse SaaS applications is driving IAM leaders to seek solutions that offer richer IAM functionality than the single sign-on (SSO) capability that is today's norm."
Furthermore, as a result of the rapid trend surrounding the Internet of Things (IoT), the Gartner report states that "IoT creates new populations of users that require authentication just as people do. However, because "knowledge" and "biometric" factors apply only to people, IAM leaders must consider other options to achieve higher-trust, "two factor" authentication for things. Things are entities that people interact with, and such interactions demand that people can authenticate themselves to things. Thus, IAM leaders will need to find authentication methods that can be integrated with things as well as endpoint devices, business applications and so on."
"We are a product-forward company, focused on flexibility, security and ease-of-use," said Bitium CEO Scott Kriz. "To be recognized by such an esteemed analyst group for this and specifically for our innovative solution is fantastic. We continually strive to go beyond what is traditionally defined as IAM and hope that our customers are as excited about our evolution as we are."
