BIG+BIH to Reaffirm Thailand's Status as Asian Design Hub
BANGKOK, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Department of Export Promotion (DEP), Ministry of Commerce will reaffirm the country's positioning as the region's design hub through the Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International Houseware Fair (BIG+BIH) which is known as Asia's best duo event for gift and decorative industries. During 20-25 April 2010, the fairs will be held under the concept of Soul and Style of the Orient.
Organized for the 29th time, BIG+BIH will once again demonstrate the reputable characters of lifestyle industry from Thailand which are design, quality, and business integrity.
"We emphasize on the uniqueness and practicality of our product designs, as well as the quality that meets all international safety standards and is friendly to the environment. Exhibitors selected to participate in the fairs are known for their business integrity. As a result, visiting BIG+BIH is on a must do list of countless world class buyers," said Mrs. Srirat Rastapana, DEP's Director General.
Thailand has been doing well in exporting lifestyle products to countries in the Americas, Europe, and within Asia, while enjoying the growth in new markets in the Middle East and Africa. Since the implementation of ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) agreement to reduce import tax to 0% at the beginning of this year, exporters foresee a healthy overall growth in 2010, despite the slow recovery of the global economic environment.
Products to be highlight at BIG+BIH include gifts, premiums, home decorative, artificial flowers and plants, handicrafts, household items, spa products, home textiles, toys, stationery, and other design objects.
BIG+BIH April 2010 will be held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC) which is situated in a short driving distance from Suvarnabhumi airport. Traders are welcome to the event for business negotiations during 20-23 April between 10am and 6pm. The event is open to general public on 24-25 April between 10am and 9pm. Admission is free. Trade visitors are encouraged to pre-register at www.bigandbih.com for speed access and exclusive benefits.
