TARRYTOWN, N.Y., June 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Susan Cain, author of the global literary phenomenon and New York Times bestseller "QUIET: The Power of Introverts in A World That Can't Stop Talking," today announced the official launch of Quiet Revolution, a groundbreaking new company that will unleash a movement to empower introverts in every aspect of their lives – from work to education to parenting and personal relationships – via a unique set of services and products.
Cain also announced the launch of the Quiet Leadership Institute (QLI), which delivers in-person and online learning programs to help organizations better harness the talents of introverted employees and improve introvert-extrovert communication and collaboration, leading to greater productivity and improved morale. QLI has already served global organizations such as Procter & Gamble (P&G) and NASA. QLI is led by CEO Mike Erwin, a former West Point leadership instructor, Chief Learning Officer Dr. Kate Earle, a corporate education executive, and COO Jeff Bryan, also a West Point graduate.
Launching simultaneously, the online resource QuietRev.com provides daily multi-media editorial content and will soon offer online education resources and programs for individuals, parents and teachers.
"After QUIET was published, I started to hear from thousands and thousands of readers," said Cain, who is co-founder of Quiet Revolution. "They said they felt that for the first time in their lives they had permission to be themselves, and they were eager for the tools to encourage other introverts in their companies, their schools, and their personal lives to feel the same way."
"Introverts make up an astounding one third to one half of the population," said Paul Scibetta, co-founder and CEO of the company. "Our goal is to become a community of ideas and best practices to inspire introverts and the people who interact with them."
Quiet Revolution's leadership team also includes COO Tony Morose, formerly of JP Morgan, Creative Director Michael Glass, former Director of Film and Video for TED, and our Bookkeeper and Business Support Leader, Colleen Quinn.
Quiet Leadership Institute (QLI)
QLI has assembled an Advisory Board of leading business thinkers to help guide the development of innovative content and training materials, including Douglas Conant (The Campbell Soup Company, AVON Products, Conant Leadership); Adam Grant (psychology professor at Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania); Brian Little (psychology professor at Cambridge University); Amy Cuddy (social psychologist and associate professor at Harvard Business School); Ron Zamir (CEO Allen Communications); Gretchen Rubin (New York Times bestselling author); and Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman (Scientific Director of the Imagination Institute and researcher in the Positive Psychology Center at the University of Pennsylvania).
The Quiet Leadership Institute has partnered with Advisory Board member Dr. Kaufman to develop a deeply-researched personality assessment that's unprecedented in its degree of nuance. The test analyzes degrees of introversion and extroversion based on sub-traits of preference for calm, excitement, action, and deliberation. The test is currently in the pilot testing phase and an abridged version will launch at QuietRev.com this summer.
QuietRev.com
The online home for Quiet Revolution, QuietRev.com, is built around three pillars: Kids, Work and Life. The site includes essays, advice columns, interviews, and profiles to engage a wide range of audiences. Cain, whose writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Atlantic, among many other publications, will publish to the site regularly, along with other members of the Quiet Revolution team. Notable writers and influencers – including Arianna Huffington and her daughter Isabella Huffington, and New York Times and TODAY.com editor Jessica Lahey – as well as "Quiet Revolutionaries," or everyday people with a compelling take on the power of quiet, will also contribute to the site.
Also launching this fall on QuietRev.com is a first-of-its kind online parenting course designed to guide parents of introverted children. The course was developed by Quiet Revolution in partnership with award-winning e-learning developers, Allen Communications.
Quiet Digital, the division overseeing web and social media strategies for QuietRev.com, is led by Chief Digital Officer Claire Diaz-Ortiz, an early Twitter employee who has been credited with getting Pope Benedict XVI to tweet, and award-winning blogger and author, Editorial Director Alice Bradley, and Community Manager, Jennifer Lee.
Partnerships
Later this summer, Quiet Revolution will partner with The Huffington Post, a leading global source of breaking news, opinion, entertainment and community. Together, they will launch a co-branded Quiet Revolution section on HuffingtonPost.com featuring content created and curated by writers and producers from Quiet Revolution.
This fall, Quiet Revolution will also be launching a podcast in partnership with Panoply, Slate's premium podcast network. Episodes will cover topics ranging from parenting to leadership to relationships, and will feature interviews and conversations with other influential introverts.
In the coming months, Quiet Revolution will build upon its award-winning partnership with Steelcase to create Quiet Spaces for open office plans, expanding on its consumer product and licensing footprint. Efforts will be led by Lia Buffa De Feo, Head of Strategic Partnerships & Brand Licensing of Quiet Revolution, and formerly of Food Network and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.
