Beresford-Redman "Eager to Clear His Name," Waives Right to Appeal Extradition
Hopes Mexico Will Assure Fair Trial
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard Hirsch and Vicki Podberesky, attorneys representing producer Bruce Beresford-Redman who is the subject of an extradition request by the authorities in the jurisdiction of Cancun, Mexico, have issued a formal statement saying that their client is "eager to clear his name" at trial in Mexico.
Hirsch and Podberesky, reacting to the denial of Beresford-Redman's writ questioning the extradition request submitted to the court after a judge's ruling, have issued the following official statement regarding the case:
"We are disappointed in the court's decision denying our request to prevent the extradition of our client, Bruce Beresford-Redman. After consultation with him, Bruce has decided not to appeal the decision and to return to Mexico and defend himself on the charges. He is innocent and it is his hope that the court in Mexico will assure that he receives a fair trial in which, he is confident, he will be exonerated."
