Pick Your Way to $10,000 Sweepstakes Announced
LOS ANGELES, March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, The Mojo 6 announced golfer Beatriz Recari is the fans' choice to receive the coveted and highly contested 16th spot in The Mojo 6 Tournament (www.themojo6.com), a unique golf tournament being held in Jamaica, and broadcast on CBS, May 1 and 2, 2010. Recari received the majority of the fans' votes and will be playing alongside fifteen elite women golfers, including some of the top-10 female golfers in the Rolex World Golf Rankings, who will compete for a share of a $1 million purse in the most intense and challenging event out there.
Recari, only 22 years old and a rookie this season, heats things up on and off the course as she is as talented as she is beautiful and is recognized as one of Spain's top golfers. Recari will be joining world renowned female golfers, Cristie Kerr, Anna Nordqvist, Suzann Pettersen, Song Hee Kim, Paula Creamer and Yani Tseng, fellow LPGA players Amanda Blumenherst, Na Yeon Choi, Christina Kim, Brittany Lang, Brittany Lincicome, Kristy McPherson, Morgan Pressel and Angela Stanford, as well as 15-year-old golfing phenom, Mariah Stackhouse at The Mojo 6. These golfers will also be the first to play Raceway Golf ™, a new, innovative golf format introduced by Mojo Marketing & Media. Raceway Golf is designed to showcase the intense competition and rivalries in golf and take the sport to a new level.
"Thank you to my fans for selecting me to play in The Mojo 6 in Jamaica," noted Recari. "We did it! I'm so happy to be a part of such an innovative event and to be one of the first golfers to play Raceway Golf which I think will not only be exciting for us golfers, but also for the fans to watch."
Joining the Mojo team to report on the fast-moving tournament is golfer Anna Rawson. Rawson will provide viewers with an insider look and special behind the scenes as golfers battle it out. "We recognize the huge charitable intent of Anna Rawson and had to find a way for her to be involved in The Mojo 6," said Ed Moses, Olympic champion and co-founder of Mojo. "If chosen by the fans for the 16th position, Anna was planning to donate 100% of her winnings to UNICEF, International Medical Corps and the Inspire Foundation. This attitude embodies the mission of Mojo."
"I am honored to host and promote The Mojo 6 tournament. This innovative way of marketing and attracting new fans to women's golf has the potential to elevate the sport to a whole new level," said Rawson.
To further engage fans in The Mojo 6, today Mojo launched the "Pick Your Way to $10,000," pick four, tournament sweepstakes. Fans will pick and rank in order the top four players out of the 16 competitors at www.themojo6.com. The fans with the top four players ranked correctly will be entered for a drawing to win $10,000. Those who entered but didn't select the right order will be put in a separate drawing for a trip to Jamaica. Consumers can submit their picks starting today until April 13, 2010. The winners will be selected immediately after the tournament and announced on CBS.
"Since coming up with The Mojo 6 we wanted to create an exciting tournament that not only features great players but also engages fans," said Joy Stephenson, co-founder of Mojo Marketing & Media.
Played over two days, Raceway Golf™ pits 16 top players against each other to battle out a series of six-hole matches to crown a winner. Mojo will package The Mojo 6 in Jamaica for CBS broadcast on May 1 & 2, 2010 with additional original content that is not typically aired in conjunction with a professional sporting event. Additional coverage is set to include in-depth interviews with players highlighting what it takes to be among the world's best female athletes, performances by some of Jamaica's and the Caribbean's best-known entertainers, and exclusive "behind the scenes" footage of what it takes to stage an international golf event.
As with all Mojo Marketing & Media properties, The Mojo 6 in Jamaica, and all future The Mojo 6 tournaments, will include activities designed to increase awareness about the importance of charitable giving. Since no two markets are identical, this element of each The Mojo 6 tournament will reflect the unique character, needs and opportunities for charity involvement of its host market.
